National Disability Research Partnership
Minister for the NDIS, Stuart Robert and Minister for Families and Social Services, Anne Ruston have announced the launch of the National Disability Research Partnership (NDRP). The NDRP will bring together experts in disability policy and research to deliver a world-class disability research and policy hub.
The NDRP seeks to bridge the gap between research, policy and practice and build the disability research capacity in Australia by initiating and coordinating research activities, generating new funding and supporting collaborations and partnerships between academics, advocacy groups, government, service providers and other stakeholders. Over the next two year establishment phase, the NDRP will build a case for sustained disability research and identify potential long-term funding streams to ensure that policy and practice reform delivers the optimal outcomes for people with disability and their families and carers into the future. Key activities will also include the development of a national disability research agenda, and mapping the capability and capacity to deliver it.
