JobSaver

After strong advocacy by NDS and social sector peaks, the NSW government announced that registered charities in the social services and animal welfare sectors with a decline in turnover between 15 and 30 per cent will be eligible for JobSaver.

These organisations are now able to lodge their applications via Service NSW.

JobSaver applications will remain open past 18 October 2021 to ensure that NFPs in this category have enough time to apply.

For more information, see Attachment E of the JobSaver payment guidelines.

Not-for-profit service providers experiencing increased demand and/or a decrease in income, but not eligible for JobSaver, are able to check their eligibility for the Social Sector Support Fund (SSSF). Registrations of interest for the SSSF close on 8 October 2021.

Suspension of day program group activities

NSW Health has updated its advice to suspend day program group activities in areas that remain under stay-at-home orders. Group activities should continue to be suspended until 11 October 2021.

This is in line with the NSW Government announcement that restrictions across NSW are likely to be modified in anticipation of vaccination rates reaching 70 percent double dose by this date.

Providers should continue to check the NSW Health website to keep up to date with current restrictions.

Information for residential disability facilities has also been updated to reflect that residents may leave their facility to exercise and for recreational activities provided they adhere to restrictions within the Public Health Order.

  • Residents must remain within the local government area or no further than 5km from the place of residence
  • Recreational activities must be with no more than 5 people aged 13 years and older and everyone over the age of 16 years must be fully vaccinated carry evidence of their vaccination status
  • Masks must be worn (unless an exemption applies)
