Have you noticed a reduction in disability related health supports?

In response to member concerns, we are asking providers if they have noticed a trend to reduce participant packages, particularly for health supports.

Those who missed NDP’s recent Workforce Virtual Conference this year can still watch all the presentations with an on-demand pass. The one-day online conference in June covered crucial topics in disability employment and we recorded all the speeches, panels, and discussions for you to view until 21 September. The pass also gives you access to all the exhibitors and resources. 

By buying a pass by Friday 11 August, you will be able to view, at your convenience, any keynotes, presentations and panels by our invited experts and sector leaders, including:    

  • Findings from the Workforce Census Report  
    With NDS’s CEO Laurie Leigh and Associate Professor Roxanna Nasseri Pebdani from the University of Sydney.

    Understanding work orientation of disability support workers with Tracey Lloyd, Director of the Art of Creative Strategy. 
  • Secure your own mask before helping others 
    With all the stressors in the disability sector, how is self-care applicable across different relationships and environments. With Matthew Zammit, Dianne Hardy and Lourdes Zamanillo from Workforce and Policy at NDS. 
  • How is Artificial Intelligence transforming the disability sector? 
    Professor Didar Zowghi gives an overview of AI in the disability sector and how it is transforming workforce, with a look forward to the challenges and risks that need to be addressed. 
  • Innovative supervision models 
    Speaking about the importance of sound workforce supervision in delivering high quality supports to people with disability, particularly in rewarding, valuing, developing and retaining workers, are Suzanne Bocking from Selectability, Anne Mecham from Brightwater Care Group and Lee Vinicombe from Brightwater's Capacity Building Program. 
  • Working with Allied Health Assistance 
    Susan Nancarrow, CEO and Founder of HealthWork, outlines the important role for AHAs and looks at three areas that need attention: how to identify tasks suitable for delegation, how to give adequate supervision and mentoring, and duty of care
