Developing a Risk Management Approach

This workshop is a part of the NDS Risk, Incidents and Complaints Management (RICM) Skilling the Sector project supporting individual, small and medium disability service providers. This workshop supports providers to consider the tools, strategies and approach to engage in effective risk management. The workshop will cover:

  • Common risk terminology
  • What good risk management looks like
  • Documentation to support effective risk management
  • Risk and continuous improvement
  • Resources available through NDS to support risk management

The workshop presenter is Leanda Syme. Leanda is a consultant with 35 years’ experience in the disability sector as an employment service provider, auditor and trainer. Leanda is passionate about developing the capacity of individuals and organisations to achieve better outcomes for themselves and their communities.

Leanda will be supported by Zel Iscel, who is a Disability Specialist Consultant and is a member of the NDS Lived Experience Network (LEN). Zel has worked as a Senior Policy Officer and serves on the Board of DADAA Western Australia an arts organisation for people with disability.

This workshop is provided for free, through the RICM Project funding from the Australian Government. Additional resources are available at the RICM Hub. 

Please note: This workshop will not be recorded and will have a maximum capacity of 300 attendees.
