WA Government releases the final Supporting Communities Forum Communique for 2020

The WA State Government has published the communique from the final Supporting Communities Forum meeting held on 23 November 2020.
The Supporting Communities Forum supports the implementation of the State Government's Supporting Communities policy which is focused on improving the quality of services provided to vulnerable Western Australians.
WA State Manager, Julie Waylen is a member of the Forum which aims to identify opportunities for better designed services and helps guide future Government priorities.
Highlights of the communique include:
- An update by the Recovery Implementation Support team on the projects being implemented to support women, youth, Aboriginal people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people in the regions
- An update by the Department of Training and Workforce Development on the recovery projects relating to skills and workforce development
- Presentation of a scoping paper on WA's care economy, with subsequent discussions surrounding opportunities to strengthen the care economy
- Insight into all agenda items from an Aboriginal perspective from Ms Gail Beck, Co-Chair of the Aboriginal Advisory Council of WA
- Progression in the development of the Multicultural Policy Framework, which was launched in March 2020.
