WA COVID-19 Update: Four day lockdown for Perth and Peel

Effective 12.01am Tuesday, 29 June a full lockdown for the Perth and Peel regions was last night announced by Premier Mark McGowan and is in place until 12.01 am Saturday, 3 July.
Of note for WA disability service providers:
Masks are mandatory except:
- While at home
- During vigorous outdoor exercise
- While in a vehicle with members of your own household
- Certain exemptions including for people with disability and children in primary school or younger
Stay at home except for these reasons or in an emergency situation:
- For work, if you are an essential worker or service provider
- For purchasing essential goods including food, groceries, medical or necessary supplies within 5km of home or at the closest practicable location
- For one hour of outdoor exercise per day within 5km of home with up to one other adult from your household or any number of children from your household
- For medical or health care purposes including looking after the vulnerable or getting vaccinated
5km regional boundary in place around Perth and Peel
- Travel to other regions restricted to exempt reasons only
- Anyone who has been in Perth or Peel since 27 June must continue to wear a mask
Other restrictions
- Visits to aged care/disability care facilities are prohibited except for essential care, compassionate reasons, end of life and advocacy
- Public events are prohibited
- Hospitality venues restricted to takeaway only
- Schools and childcare centres to remain open
- Interstate travel should be minimised out of Perth
- Travel to remote Aboriginal communities remains restricted.

The four day lockdown follows a third community case of the highly infectious Delta strain of COVID-19 detected in WA, which traces back to a person who had travelled to NSW. Exposure sites can be viewed here.
The NDS office in WA will be closed to visitors until next Monday, 5 July or until further announcements are made. Any meetings or events being held at NDS will be rescheduled or moved online. NDS staff will continue to work from home and will keep members up to date as information comes to hand. Please let us know of any issues impacting your ability to deliver services.
