The NDIS Provider and Worker Registration Taskforce is asking for public submissions on the design and setting up of a new regulatory model for NDIS providers and workers. This model, proposed in the NDIS Review Final Report, is to improve the quality and safety of supports and services for NDIS participants.

To guide people in making their submissions, the taskforce has included a few key questions, asking how individuals engage with the NDIS, their opinions on proposed levels of registration and enrolment, and the importance to them of key features of the proposed model. Contributors are also asked how the model can uphold the rights of people with disabilities, including the right to live independently, be free from violence and participate economically and socially.

Established last month, the Taskforce will give advice on Recommendation 17 of the NDIS Review, which calls for a risk-proportionate regulatory model for NDIS providers and workers. This model is to address quality and safeguards issues within the NDIS market and workforce.

Submissions have been extended and now are due by 5 May. More information, including the terms of reference and how to make a submission, can be found on the DSS website

NDS will be making a submission.
