Tas COVID-19 update: Date for boosters extended to 23 April
1/04/2022
Based on feedback from the sector, the date disability workers are required to have a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been extended to 23 April.
Under the amended Public Health Direction, from 23 April a disability support worker is considered vaccinated against COVID-19 if they:
- have received at least one booster dose of a vaccine for COVID-19, or
- if they are not eligible, in accordance with the ATAGI recommendations, to receive a booster dose of the vaccine, or
- are eligible, in accordance with the ATAGI recommendations, to receive a booster dose within 4 weeks of becoming eligible
Providers should ensure that they continue to check Tasmanian Government vaccination requirements for disability support workers.
Providers are also reminded to register for the next NDS COVID-19 Disability Interface meeting will be held on 5 April 2022. This meeting will provide an update on the extension to the vaccination booster requirements and other developments, along with an opportunity for questions.
Members are asked to get in touch if they have any queries or concerns.
