NDS is calling papers for our Virtual Workforce Conference on Thursday 30 May. The theme is Working Well, creating safer workplaces and cultures of well-being.

We are looking for high-quality papers from sector leaders and experts with innovative ideas and fresh perspectives to be delivered in the conference. Submissions close on Tuesday 12 March.

Acknowledging the challenging operating environment for disability workers, including workforce shortages and coming government reforms, this one-day virtual conference will focus on how individuals, leaders and HR professionals can create safer working environments and a culture of wellbeing.

There are many benefits of mentally healthy workplaces: thriving workers, increased productivity, higher engagement and job satisfaction, and better retention and attraction of staff. Healthy workplaces have lower absenteeism, fewer work-related injuries and illnesses, and fewer workers’ compensation claims. These are essential to providing high-quality, reliable and safe services for people with disability.

We welcome high-quality contributions to this important conversation from disability sector leaders and experts. Submit a paper to join the conference program.

The conference program will be segmented to target individuals, leaders and HR professionals in the disability sector. Submit an abstract that speaks to any of these segments or covers any of the key focus areas:

  • addressing staff recruitment and retention issues
  • strategies for promoting work–life balance to address burnout and compassion fatigue
  • innovative approaches to employee wellness programs
  • inclusive, diverse and supportive workplace cultures
  • skills and training to create future leaders.

Submit an abstract of up to 300 words by filling out the form on the NDS website.

A programming committee will be convened to review and shortlist submissions. The presenters who are selected will have the chance to share their ideas with a diverse audience of disability sector professionals.

So, if you have something to say about healthy workplaces, don’t miss this opportunity. Submissions close on Tuesday 12 March.

More information on the conference, including registrations, will be released soon, in the meantime please save the date for the NDS Workforce Virtual Conference 2024: Thursday 30 May.
