The Victorian government has announced $5.4 million in grants in two programs to improve facilities for people with disability.

In July, the Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) announced $3 million in grant funding as part of the Changing Places initiative to expand the network of facilities for people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. Grants went to 19 organisations, businesses and local authorities around Victoria.

Changing Places is an Australia-wide initiative to provide larger than standard-sized accessible toilet facilities, with adult-sized change tables for people with severe and profound disabilities. There are already 97 Changing Places operating in Victoria, including Melbourne Zoo, the MCG, St Kilda Lifesaving Club and the Guide Park in Wonthagi.
