Federally funded program to boost vaccinations for vulnerable people

WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) has received additional federal funding to support vulnerable populations, including people with disability, to get their COVID-19 vaccinations. The Alliance is looking for organisations to run activities to improve the uptake of primary vaccinations and boosters.

Disability organisations can be funded for reaching out to vulnerable people and talking about vaccination, transporting them to vaccine clinics, or hosting pop-up clinics. There are also funds for staff support.

People with disability are just one of the vulnerable populations the program targets; the others are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, CALD communities, rural and remote communities, and people who are homeless.

The guidelines are flexible enough for organisations to suggest their own activity – just get in touch with the Alliance before making a submission. The activities must occur between now and the end of the year.

WAPHA has promised to keep the process simple, with basic invoicing and no onerous reporting requirements.

For more information, read the WAPHA program flyer [PDF], WAPHA’s guide to funding [PDF], and a practice example of how best to apply for funding [PDF].

Before making a submission, get in touch with the team at WAPHA to discuss your proposal: racfvaccination@wapha.org.au.
