A panel discussion in Sydney on Wednesday 3 April will discuss how providers can recruit more people with disability onto their boards. To focus the discussion, the event’s conveners, People for Purpose and NDS, have produced a supporting toolkit to help providers find and recruit candidates.   

Members should pass this invitation onto their directors and anyone interested in inclusive governance.   

The scarcity of people with lived experience on the boards of disability organisations was highlighted by the Disability Royal Commission (DRC). Throughout the hearings and in its report, the DRC saw greater inclusion as a way forward, noting how few boards of disability service providers had directors with disability.
