Board Election and AGM Schedule 2019

In accordance with Article 5 of the Constitution of National Disability Services Limited and By-Law No 1, the 2019 election of the elected members of the Board will be held by secret postal ballot. The schedule for the election and Annual General Meeting is as follows:

An election will be held to fill two vacancies. There is one Director whose term expires at the 2019 AGM – Rohan Braddy. The other vacancy results from a resignation. Directors will be elected for a period of three years and Directors whose term expires are eligible for re-election.The Board has resolved to have 14 Directors: the Chairs of NDS’s eight State and Territory Divisions and six directly-elected positions. A State/Territory Chair cannot be a directly-elected member of the Board at the same time. Nomination forms have been emailed to all eligible voting representatives.Please note that to participate in this year’s election, your organisation needs to have renewed its 2019/20 membership by 5.00pm AEDT 10 October 2019.NOTE: Under the NDS Constitution and By-law 1 the only persons who shall be eligible to be nominated for election to hold office as a Director of the Board shall be either NDS Life Members or voting representatives of NDS Organisational Members. Each Organisational Member has one voting representative with one vote. Multi-state membership does not apply to Board elections or the AGM.Each candidate must be nominated by an NDS Life Member or the national voting representative of an NDS Organisational Member. The consent of the person nominated shall be endorsed upon his or her nomination, failing which it shall not be treated as a valid nomination. Only those members whose names appear in the Register of Members and who, by the date that Register is closed, have paid all sums due and owing to National Disability Services as at that date, will be eligible to participate in the ballot. Any members who have a query regarding the election process should contact Emerson Riley on 02 6283 3205.
