Parliament releases comprehensive report on SIL

Providers of Supported Independent Living (SIL) are urged to read the just-released report by the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS. At 175 pages, it is a comprehensive look at how well SIL is operating for participants and providers. Participants will welcome recommendations to improve their experiences, including:
Numerous recommendations will also be welcome by providers, particularly those associated with: streamlined quoting, approval and plan review processes; a review of prices for people with complex support needs; and a new focus on vacancy management (including compatibility of residents and the payment of 50 per cent of a participantâs SIL funding for one month following their exit).
