Department of Communities holds a forum on WA disability legislation

People sitting in an audience. Text reads: Public Forum, Future WA Disability Legislation

Responding to strong community interest in the reform process, the Department of Communities is holding a free forum on the future of disability legislation. Part of their continuing consultation with the sector, the forum at Boulevard Hall in Floreat on Friday 28 July will add to the valuable insights, perspectives and ideas that the department has already received.

Service providers, people with disability, their families and carers, and the public can attend the forum either in-person or online to influence the direction of disability legislation.

As well as representatives from the Department of Communities, members from the Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability will be speaking and answering questions. The council, made up of people with disability and their families, have been working with the state government on the State Disability Strategy and the creation of an Office of Disability. They will give a run down on what has been achieved so far and what remains to be done.

In-person seats are limited, so reserve your place soon.
