NSW COVID-19 update: Exemption for vaccine boosters

person gets medical plaster on shoulder. Text reads: COVID-19 News Update

Amidst emerging concerns raised by NDS and providers that meeting the deadline for staff providing disability services to have a COVID-19 booster by Tuesday, 12 April could compromise service delivery, NSW Health has announced an exemption in relation to booster requirements.

The temporary exemption allows workers who have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to continue to work if they have been assessed as being essential to the operation of the service.

All workers who have not yet received their booster must also take reasonable steps to get the booster as soon as practical.

The exemption [pdf] is in place until 1June 2022.

Members are encouraged to continue to contact NDS should we be able to assist in any way.
