RC releases issues paper on promoting inclusion

Reads: Royal Commission update

7/12/2020

The Disability Royal Commission has released an issues paper on promoting inclusion of people with disability.

The Royal Commission is interested in how a more inclusive society can support the independence of people with disability, and any barriers which may be faced. The issues paper considers barriers to inclusion in employment, accommodation, education, criminal justice and health settings.

Inclusion is framed as: people having control, appropriate supports, and opportunities to meaningfully contribute and participate. The paper asks what changes can be made to service provision to better promote an inclusive society for people with disability.
