RC examines provider’s organisational policies and procedures
26/05/2021
On the third day of the case study hearing, Sunnyfieldâs CEO answered questions about the organisationâs governance, finances, board composition, and staff training and qualifications.
In addition to basic information about types of services, and client and staff numbers, the Commission was interested to understand the extent to which the provider prioritised service users in its organisational policies, procedures and operations.
Throughout the dayâs lengthy and in-depth proceedings, the witness maintained an open and helpful approach for the RC and did well in trying to explain complex issues, while also openly admitting when answers were not known. Many of the questions posed by Senior Counsel would be challenging for all CEOs in the sector given the complexity of the Scheme and the duty of care owed to participants.
