Mixed views and criticisms of DES and ADEs, RC hears in submissions
1/04/2021
The Royal Commission has relayed polarised views on employment in a report released this week, summarising responses to its Employment Issues paper. The document is the first time the Royal Commission has engaged publicly on issues related to supported employment settings.
All employment providers are encouraged to read the document in full.
Many themes reflect Counsel Assisting's written submissions, released last week. The most common problems reflected in submissions relating to DES were 'lack of appropriate support, poor client outcomes, and clients being placed in jobs that did not match their skills, interests and abilities'.
