About these resources
The Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) has supported the development of three new workforce resources which provide advice/training to support people working with Victorians who have a disability.
The resources were developed in response to system-wide recommendations issued by the Disability Services Commissioner and include:
- Falls prevention – a practice manual
- Safe and enjoyable mealtimes – Training modules to support NDIS participants with swallowing difficulties
- Deteriorating health – a poster for disability group homes
In collaboration with NDS, The Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) has developed three podcast episodes on these topics, with accompanying videos.
The podcast episodes feature key experts including Professor Prue Morgan, Head of Physiotherapy at Monash University, Reece Adams, Head of the Centre for Disability Health, and Professor Bronwyn Hemsley, Head of Speech Pathology at the University of Technology Sydney, who discuss the resource topics.
The podcast series was created to support the existing resources and provide an opportunity for people to learn more about the topics.
More information is available on the DFFH website.
