28/07/2016
I need to know this because:
- This report summarises numerous issues contributing to a workforce shortage of allied health professionals in the ACT.
- It suggests proposed ways to improve the number of allied health professionals working to assist people with disability.
A report released after a forum and consultation in April highlights a number of issues contributing to a workforce shortage of allied health professionals in the ACT.
The report comes to several key findings, including that the curriculum of allied health professional training addresses support for people with disability only very marginally.
It also finds that, overall, there is a very limited supply of training places for allied health students, with few incentives and support.
