Specialist disability accommodation pricing paper released

2/06/2016
I need to know this because:
- The paper amends and updates benchmark prices for specialist housing released in draft form in April;
- Support costs are not covered and will be assessed and funded separately by the NDIA;
- The NDIA intends to price housing innovation;
- SDA pricing is a welcome development, but it affects only 6% of NDIS participants. More action is needed to increase affordable and accessible housing supply.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Decision Paper on Pricing and Payments which outlines benchmark pricing for the land and built elements of SDA. It follows an earlier paper released on 1 April and a period of public consultation.
Only about 6% of NDIS participants will be eligible for SDA pricing – and it will not cover support costs, which are assessed and funded separately by the NDIA.
