COVID-19 Update: ACT Health advice for high-risk settings updated
14/10/2021
Staff should continue to wear masks in high-risk settings or when providing home care.
However, there is additional advice about masks and PPE, including its impact on contact tracing and advice about PPE during an outbreak in a high-risk setting.
Importantly, wearing appropriate PPE will minimise the chance of a staff member being assessed as a close or casual contact following exposure to a person in their infectious period for COVID-19. This may minimise potential workforce shortages should a client test positive for COVID-19. The advice reiterates that PPE is one measure to reduce the risk of exposure of staff and clients to COVID-19. Please refer to the ACT Health advice.
Entry screening questions updated
Another key message from the update is that entry screening questions have been updated. These should be applied immediately.
Lockdown lifted
Please also note the ACT lockdown will lift at midnight on Thursday, 14 October 2021.
