NDS in WA encourages members and people with disability to contribute to new state policy on women's health and wellbeing.

Designed to complement current work on the Western Australian Men’s Health and Wellbeing Policy, the Western Australian Women’s Health and Wellbeing Policy (the Policy) will focus on inequalities in health outcomes between women and men, and communities of girls and women, which are at risk of adverse health outcomes.

The new Policy will identify action areas for WA that align with the priorities of the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020 – 2030 (to be released shortly) and the State Government’s Women’s Plan, which is being developed by the Department of Communities.

The WA Minister for Health has opened the consultation for the Policy. To have your say and contribute, please complete the online survey by Friday, 28 June 2019.

Results of the online survey and face-to-face consultations will inform the final policy, which is anticipated for release during Women's Health Week in September. An Expression of Interest process is underway to establish a Working Group to oversee the development of the Policy.

You can check the Women’s and Newborns Health Network page for further information as details become available.
