WA State Budget 2020-21 Analysis

NDS welcomes the broad range of recovery initiatives in the State Budget 2020-21 and acknowledges the McGowan Government's strong management of the State's finances over the last three years, which provides capacity to provide investments in the local economy, infrastructure and support for the disability sector and includes cost of living subsidies for vulnerable people.
$2.8 billion is to be contributed to the NDIS over the forward estimates (2021-22 to 2023-24) and State-run disability services, particularly those outside of the scope of the NDIS, will be maintained under the 2020-21 budget. Total expenditure on disability services, covering residual, transitional and the State's contribution, is $4.3 billion (over four years from 2020-21) and includes:
