Nominations for the 2022 Victorian Disability Awards are open for just two more weeks.

The awards, which are now in their eleventh year, recognise, and honour the achievements and contributions of those that demonstrate excellence in leadership, advocacy, support and education to promote the rights of people with disability in Victoria.

NDS encourages members to nominate people, teams and organisations within the sector whose achievements have amplified the rights and participation of people with disability.

Nominating people for an Award provides an excellent opportunity for members to publicly acknowledge the outstanding contributions so many have made over a difficult 12 months.

The 2022 Victorian Disability Awards recognise excellence in eight categories. These include:

  • Emerging leader award
  • Excellence in creating inclusive communities
  • Excellence in employment outcomes
  • Excellence in promoting health, housing and wellbeing
  • Excellence in promoting rights, fairness and safety
  • Excellence in promoting disability pride
  • Volunteer award
  • Lifetime achievement honour roll
  • Minister’s Award for outstanding leadership.

Nominations close on Tuesday, 3 May 2022 and can be submitted online at the Victorian disability awards page.

Finalists will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in late-August where the Award recipients will be announced and presented with their award.
