Three ways to get Right on Board with human rights in your organisation

There are increasing expectations on directors and executives to be aware of human rights and how they must be integrated into the service quality and safeguarding practices of your organisation. Purpose at Work, in partnership with NDS, presents the Right on Board workshops to get your leaders managing and governing for human rights.

The workshops answer the need, highlighted by the Disability Royal Commission, for greater awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, while strengthening governance and management of quality and safeguarding.

After these workshops your team will better understand their legal responsibilities and how a human rights perspective can improve your service quality and safeguarding. As well as covering risks and harm prevention, the workshops will give your team a range of real-world advice about how to put human rights principles into practice.

Each workshop participant will also get a comprehensive workbook to guide them through the workshops and use later as a reference.

All the workshops are presented by Dr Alan Hough and Gilbert Kruidenier of Purpose at Work, specialists in governing and managing for human rights, quality and safeguarding. A regular presenter at NDS conferences and events, Alan combines expertise in governance with extensive knowledge of the real-world challenges of achieving quality and safeguarding in disability supports. Gilbert also presents at NDS events and was the author of the NDS ‘Fundamentals for Boards’ interactive resource.

You can choose how your leaders attend: through three online sessions, a full-day, face-to-face workshop in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra, or by booking the workshop to come to your workplace via Zoom or in-person.

The first workshop dates are in March and there are member discounts, so register now.

For more information, go to the events page for the type of workshop that suits your organisation.
