Seeking Expressions of Interest for NDS's panel of consultants

In October 2019, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) included disability-related health supports as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This inclusion allows participants to purchase disability-related health supports when the need for the supports directly relates to a participants’ functional impairment and where it is most appropriate to be provided by the NDIS.

The number of NDIS participants funded for these disability-related health supports is expected to grow significantly this year. Disability service providers in WA have approached NDS for advice and support in expanding their services into this area.

NDS is seeking to include suitably qualified consultants in our panel of consultants who can assist disability service providers with required adjustments to deliver disability related health supports. These consultants will be expected to have nursing or allied health skills and experience.

An Expressions of Interest (EOI) is the process to join this panel.  Services to be sought via the EOI will include (but not be limited to) the activities in the Table below.

It is important to note that the disability service providers will identify the services they need, the timing for consultancy services, and will need to find the necessary funds to pay for the consultancy. The value of the NDS consultancy panel is that it saves the providers time in advertising for and shortlisting potential consultants.

Program area: Disability related health supports

Example activities:

  • Service delivery model
  • Development of policy and procedures
  • Staff Training and development

In relation to the following topics:

  • Continence Supports
  • Diabetic management supports
  • Dysphagia supports
  • Epilepsy supports
  • Nutrition Supports
  • Podiatry supports
  • Respiratory supports
  • Wound and pressure care supports

This EOI period is open now and closes on Friday, 28 February.
