Restrictive practices consultation: Have your say

NDS is drafting a submission about the regulation of restrictive practices to the NSW Law Reform Commission (NSWLRC) review of the Guardianship Act (1987) NSW.

Policies regulating the use of restrictive practices for Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) run and ADHC-funded disability services will no longer apply once participants are fully transitioned to the NDIS.

While there are high-level principles and objectives in NSW legislation which are relevant, they do not specifically address the use of restrictive practices like some other states and territories. In the absence of legislation and ADHC policies, NDS wants to know how restrictive practices should be defined and regulated in the future.
