The National Arts and Disability Strategy is under review. This provides an important opportunity to reflect and comment on how the NDIS is affecting the participation of people with disability in cultural life.
The National Arts and Disability Strategy was developed under the authority of the Cultural Ministers Council and published in 2009. It includes 10 goals. Among them is to “strengthen pathways into the creative sector and employment opportunities for artists and arts/cultural workers with a disability”; and “artists and arts/cultural workers have greater access to mentoring and professional development opportunities”.
