We have stepped up advocacy and consultation as we seek to inform government responses to the NDIS Review.

Professor Bruce Bonyhady and Lisa Paul to headline the CEOs’ Meeting

CEOs' Meeting 2022, 28-29 November, Hilton, Sydney

2/11/2022

We are excited to announce that Professor Bruce Bonyhady AM and Lisa Paul AO PSM will lead an in-depth thought leadership roundtable on the NDIS Review at NDS’s 2022 CEOs’ Meeting.

This crucial session on Monday 28 November will provide registrants direct access to the co-chairs of the NDIS Review.

About the NDIS Review

Minister Bill Shorten referred to the independent NDIS Review as “the review of reviews”. It will look at the design, operations and sustainability of the NDIS and  at how to make the market and workforce more responsive, supportive and sustainable. It will work with participants, their families and carers, as well as providers and workers, to put people with disability back at the centre of the NDIS. The NDIS Review is led by panel co-chairs Professor Bruce Bonyhady AM and Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM.

Professor Bruce Bonyhady, Co-Chair, Independent Review of the NDIS

Professor Bonyhady is a disability reformer and economist. He was a key architect of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and was the inaugural Chair of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) from 2013 to 2016. Professor Bonyhady is the father of three adult sons, two of whom have disabilities. In the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours, he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia for services to people with disabilities, their families and carers and, as a contributor to charitable organisations, to the community.

Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM, Co-Chair, Independent Review of the NDIS

Ms Paul is a former senior Australian public servant and policymaker. She worked as secretary of federal government departments from 2004 to 2016, under five prime ministers and nine cabinet ministers. After retiring in 2016, Lisa joined the boards of listed and unlisted companies and many not-for-profits, including as Chair of headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. She has also been a director of  Social Ventures Australia, Schools Plus and many others.

She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2011 and, in 2003, received a Public Service Medal for her work coordinating the Commonwealth's domestic response to the Bali bombings. In 2011, she was named Federal Government Leader of the Year in the Institute of Chartered Accountants Awards.
