New Resources for Disability Workforce Promotion

NDS has recorded four short vignettes and one interview as part of a state funded Workforce Promotion Project. These resources aim to inform people about the employment opportunities offered by the disability sector, and the diverse array of roles available. Service providers are encouraged to consider making use of these in their recruitment or promotional activities. The podcasts draw on the experiences of Tom Aberdeen, project coordinator, and his career working in disability, from different points of view. There is also an interview with a house manager working in Supported Independent Living. She reflects on the role and what she enjoys about supporting people with disability in a home setting.
These recordings seek to highlight that disability can be a rewarding, fun and long lasting career choice, and that there are many opportunities available now. The recordings can be accessed through the following links:
