The Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) has released a new Information Sheet to assist organisations to understand their reporting obligations around behaviours that cause emotional or psychological harm to children.
Under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, heads of Victorian organisations are required to notify the Commission within three business days of becoming aware of a reportable allegation, including where a worker or volunteer has acted in a way that causes emotional or psychological harm to a child.
The new guidance is designed to assist heads of organisations to understand their obligations to notify the Commission about such behaviours.
The information sheet complements the Commission’s existing resources on the Scheme, which can be found on the CCYP website. This resource and further CCYP resources can also be found on the NDS Child Safe Standards page.
The Commission will be holding two online information webinars to provide an overview of the new information sheet. The webinars will also include Q&A sessions with a panel of Commission staff members.
