New free Zero Tolerance resources for boards
Boards play a critical role in setting expectations about culture and practice across organisations. This includes leadership about human rights and preventing and responding to abuse and neglect.
Safeguarding for Boards is a series of short films and a guide to support board members to understand their safeguarding responsibilities and strategies to address the risk of abuse and neglect of people with disability.
The short, engaging films feature current board members discussing human rights and safeguarding approaches with Victorian disability advocate John McKenna.
Watch the films at your board meetings to start conversations about safety and discuss any gaps in your organisation. Use the accompanying Safeguarding for Boards Guide to identify practical steps you and your organisation can take to make sure people with disability are empowered, have a voice, are heard, and are safe.
