National Disability Services has established a panel of qualified business consultants to assist WA disability service providers in their transition to the NDIS.

NDS in WA recently advertised for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consultants with expertise in the following program areas:

• Business operations
• Service design and delivery
• Governance
• Marketing/Digital Strategies
• IT Review
• Workforce planning and HR management.

Panel process

A selection committee of sector representatives has established a panel of consultants with relevant NDIS knowledge and proven disability sector experience to assist organisations with their specific organisational and transitional requirements.

Engaging the panel

When a provider has identified the need and the source of funding for consultancy support (NDS can also provide information on available funding sources), the next steps is to contact NDS for any of the following:

1. A list of NDS pre-qualified consultants for the type of support required
2. A guide to engaging a consultant
3. A sample contract to assist in the negotiation and engagement of consultants
4. Consultant rates: quotes obtained from consultants should not exceed this schedule of rates.

Feedback

At the end of each engagement, feedback will be sought from consultants and providers.

The feedback from consultants will be used by NDS to identify and help resolve any systemic issues that the sector may be experiencing.

Feedback from providers will be used to evaluate each consultant, including assessing value for money, and helping to determine their ongoing role on the panel.

Sector Support Service

The consulting panel is part of the NDS’ Sector Support service which is available to assist West Australian disability service providers transition to the NDIS.

The service includes an on-line Helpdesk and the opportunity to have a face-to-face information exchange, thanks to support from Department of Communities WA.
