New CIMS helpline, training and resources available
From Monday 15 January 2018, the new client incident management system (CIMS) will apply to all in-scope funded organisations and Victorian registered NDIS providers.
In preparation for the roll out of the CIMS, a number of measures have been established to support providers to transition.
A CIMS helpline will commence on Monday, 15 January 2018, and will be available seven days per week (from 7:00am to 7:00pm on weekdays, and 10:00am to 3:00pm on weekends). The helpline number is 1300 024 863 and will also be available for IT assistance.
In regard to online training, four self-paced online CIMS modules are available on the CIMS webpage (under ‘CIMS learning and development’). The modules include CIMS end-to-end; incident response and reporting; incident investigation and incident review.
Full-day face-to-face classroom-based training sessions continue to be available for all in-scope funded organisations and Victorian-registered NDIS providers at no cost. The sessions run through to March 2018 and include one session on investigating and one on reviewing client incidents. Registration for the sessions is available here.
The suite of resources available for CIMS has been updated to include IT user guides and e-learning modules, toolkit resources (including templates) and an addendum specific to out-of-home care. These are available on the CIMS webpage.
The CIMS IT on-boarding process commenced in September 2017. Organisations that have indicated their intention to use either the department-built client incident register or their existing systems via the CIMS Application Program Interface (API) have been contacted about the on-boarding process.
In-scope funded organisations that have not indicated their intention are requested to urgently advise the department by completing this survey.
