NDS welcome changes to Specialist Disability Accommodation announcement

Substantial improvements to the operation of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) have been announced today, including the release of the report on the review of the SDA Framework and the response from the Disability Reform Council (DRC).The SDA Pricing and Payments Framework has been updated. Applying from January 2019, it provides greater transparency as to how SDA price reviews will be undertaken (ameliorating the concern of investors about the five-yearly price reviews). The first review of SDA prices has been pushed back until 2023 to give investors greater certainty while the market is developing, and will be every five years thereafter.

The DRC has directed the NDIA to undertake an immediate review of the pricing assumptions for SDA which will include a focus on location factors and build cost differentials for specific design categories. This review will not result in any price reductions.
