NDS trialling collaborative assessment centres in NSW
The disability services industry is one of Australia's fastest-growing industries, as found in the latest edition of NDS's Australian Disability Workforce Report.
NDS has now secured NSW Government funding for a trial of collaborative assessment centres with the aim of evaluating their efficiency and effectiveness as a recruitment technique for the sector.
This project is funded by the NSW Government through the Department of Family and Community Services, and uses a suite of workforce development tools and programs that NDS has built over several years. (Find out more about assessment centres in our information sheets (PDF | Word)).
NDS has engaged Davidson HR Consulting to support the development and implementation of two co-designed, values-based, collaborative assessment centres - one in South-West Sydney and one in regional NSW. It is anticipated that approximately five to six organisations will be involved in each centre. These organisations will have immediate requirements to recruit multiple numbers - five to eight disability support workers - and would be able to offer employment opportunities.
If you are interested in participating in the development of the assessment centres, NDS is holding industry meetings to give disability organisations the opportunity to learn how the assessment centre trial will be conducted. The meetings will also inform organisations about what their role would be if they decide to participate.
The industry consultation dates are:
- Monday, 26 March 2018 - Regional NSW: Maitland
- Tuesday, 27 March 2018 - South-West Sydney
