NDS provides local NDIS updates to providers in October and November
Over the last five and half years, providers in New South Wales have experienced significant changes in the way that they operate and support people.
As of 30 June 2018, there were 89,522 people receiving support through the NDIS. The new financial year has also seen the sector transition to a new quality and safeguarding system, with the implementation of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission. The Commission has assumed much of the responsibility for provider registration, complaint and critical incident handling and monitoring.
Throughout this period, NDS has ensured that the sector has access to the latest information and the opportunity to ask questions about the issues that are of most important to them by hosting several NDIS Provider Forums each year.
In October and November, NDS will hold our last round of NDIS Provider forums for 2018. The forums will include an update from the NDIA about the latest developments in the NDIS, including participant and provider pathways, changes to Assistive Technology and improvements in the myplace portal.
The forums will also include a practical session on key aspects of the Quality and Safeguarding framework. Based on feedback from the sector, we will focus on what you need to know about the registration and registration renewal process, what the Code of Conduct means for providers, and how providers may need to adapt their systems to comply with incident reporting requirements. Drawing on sector knowledge and experience we will provide some practical tips that will assist all providers and their staff understand and implement these new requirements.
With sessions being held in over 14 locations across New South Wales, the forums will also provide a not-to-be-missed opportunity to network and collaborate with your local colleagues.
These forums are free but registration is essential. Register now so you don’t miss out!
