Ticket to Work, an NDS initiative, is making a difference, as the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation has noted.

Over the past month, NDS has:

1. Held our annual CEO Meeting in Melbourne to an audience of over 600 – our second-largest number of attendees at this conference series in over ten years

2. Launched the State of the Disability Sector Report 2018 which attracted widespread media coverage from news outlets including ABC Morning News, Sky News and ABC Radio National.

3. Facilitated our inaugural Quality and Safeguards regional forum in Victoria, with additional forums to be held in Benalla, Geelong, Warrnambool and Melbourne

4. Presented at the Not-for-profit People Conference in Melbourne on how to empower staff to more effectively achieve an organisational purpose 

5. Partnered with four regional members in Western Australia to kick off workforce development projects to improve the availability of allied health and Aboriginal workers in the state

6. Launched the NDS WA Pre-Budget Submission 2019-20, which directly led to a commitment from the State Government to develop a State Disability Plan which provides a framework for all their activities and initiatives to support people with disability over the next ten years

7. Supported the launch of Family Planning NSW’s free cervical, breast and bowel screening resources for support workers and carers to use when talking about screening with people with disability 

8. Held the NDP Virtual Conference for all workers in the disability sector, featuring over 18 presentations available to view on-demand, a networking space and exhibitor’s hall

9. Held 14 provider forums across NSW to record numbers (over 900 registrations) featuring updates from the NDIA and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission

10. Started a review of the impact of the NDIS on Work Health and Safety outcomes and Workers Compensation costs in NSW
