A new series of films have been launched today as part of NDS's Zero Tolerance initiative. The Foundations of Positive Behaviour Support films provide an overview of positive behaviour support and discuss some of the foundational elements that are necessary for good positive behaviour support to occur. These foundational elements should be embedded into the support provided to everyone.

Topics covered include:

  • What is Positive Behaviour Support?
  • Quality of Life
  • Listening and Communicating
  • Being Aware of Sensory Needs and Preferences
  • Upholding the Values of Positive Behaviour Support

The films complement other series produced as part of the NDS Zero Tolerance initiative, such as the Trauma Informed Support films and the Recognising Restrictive Practices films.

All of the resources are freely available via NDS's Zero Tolerance webpage, including the Interactive Resource Guide (iPDF).

The iPDF has been updated to include the new films. Providers are encouraged to download the updated guide to their desktop or smart phone to enable easy access to all of the Zero Tolerance films and associated resources.

NDS would like to thank the Victorian Government for funding the development of these resources.
