There are only two days to go until Early Bird registrations for NDS’s flagship employment event close. Don’t miss this opportunity to be informed of the latest news, attend a variety of targeted sessions, and hear from fellow providers.

The Disability at Work Summit will be held on 20 and 21 June at the Hilton, Adelaide. The program has been redesigned this year to allow a focus on Open Employment on Day One and Supported Employment on Day Two.

On Day One, we will hear from Stewart Thomas of the Department of Social Services, who will provide an analysis of the impact of the DES reforms 12 months on. Vivienne Conway and Amanda Mace of Web Key IT P/L will examine recent developments in assistive technology that help remove barriers to employment for people with disability. The afternoon sessions will include a report on DES participants’ views on the program and the reforms and a panel exploring the place of micro-enterprises in the disability employment spectrum.

Katrina Webb, a widely acclaimed Paralympic athlete and accomplished speaker, will deliver the keynote presentation. This will be followed by the Summit’s networking event and the presentation of the Disability Employment Excellence Awards and the BuyAbility Above and Beyond Awards.

On Day Two, we will hear about the Government’s supported employment agenda and the work of the NDIS Employment Taskforce, including the new NDIS pricing mechanism. A panel of experts will discuss the key elements of future wage setting arrangements in supported employment, as well as answering questions from the floor on this key issue. The afternoon will feature an analysis of the measurement of social outcomes in supported employment and a case study on social procurement partnerships between government and supported employers.

NDS Acting CEO David Moody will address the Summit on both days and there will plenty of opportunity for direct participation by conference attendees in World Café sessions held in the afternoon of both days.

Given the recent re-election of the Morrison Government, the Summit provides a very timely opportunity for attendees to help influence future policy settings in disability employment.

Register now with the discounted Early Bird rate by Friday, 24 May.

We look forward to seeing you in Adelaide!
