National COVID-19 update: In-reach booster vaccination availability
21/01/2022
NDS CEO Laurie Leigh today met with representatives from the Department of Social Services and the Department of Health to discuss COVID-19 vaccine booster availability and in-reach services.
Eligible providers have been contacted by vaccination providers and are now requested to book in-reach booster vaccination programs as soon as possible and have been offered priority in the case of an outbreak.
Lock in a date
Arrange a date with your vaccination provider to conduct an in-reach service as a priority. Once you have a date, consent and logistics can be resolved during the lead-up to the arranged date.
Outbreaks
In the case of an outbreak, in-reach programs can be brought forward. If you have positive staff or participant cases onsite, contact your local health unit to let them know that you would like your booster programs brought forward.
All eligible providers can request in-reach vaccination
Eligible providers can request an in-reach vaccination program even if they have previously accessed GPs or community pharmacies and declined an in-reach offer. Ask your vaccination provider and that will be facilitated.
If you have any questions regarding the above key points, please email DisabilityCovidVaccineDelivery@Health.gov.au
NDS will continue to keep you informed of further updates as they become available.
