On Friday 1 December, more than 600 people attended our annual NDS WA Lunch in Celebration of International Day of People with Disability.  

Held in the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth, the event was just one of many held across Australia and the rest of the world to promote community awareness and inclusion by celebrating the achievements and contributions of people with disability.  

The theme this year was ‘My Life, Our Community’, acknowledging that everyone has the right to make decisions for their life and should have the opportunity to be involved and play a role within their community. 

Our emcee, Chanel Bowen, masterfully brought the celebration to life, and we were honoured to be joined by the Hon. Don Punch MLA, Minister for Disability Services. The program included dazzling performances by dancers from Ballroom Fit, award-winning mezzo-soprano Grace King, and powerhouse duo Sebastian Anthony and Jay Minogue.  

With a gorgeous array of artisan products made by people with disability, the popular marketplace featured four micro-enterprises:
