The critique included obtaining cost data from a number of NDS members who, collectively, are delivering 5.5 per cent of the NDIA’s $23.5 billion in annualised core expenditure. These providers varied in size, geography and support mix types.

The providers supplied data on the costs associated with the delivery of non-SIL and/or SIL core supports as at 1 July 2021 for ordinary hours based on the categories within the DSWCM.The analysis indicates current NDIS prices for an hour of weekday, day time support fall significantly short of the costs experienced by most providers in the sector.
