Disability advocates, concerned about increasing shortages, say the sector needs 120,000 more support workers.
NDS spoke to ABC about the demand for support staff growing as more people seek individualised support.
CEO David Moody said, "about 430,000 Australians were being supported under the National Disability Insurance Scheme".
"At the moment, the estimated shortage is about 120,000 workers across Australia," Mr Moody said.
"Surprisingly, it's not just in remote and regional parts of Australia, it's also in urbanised parts of Australia as well."
