Groundbreaking research will provide insights about consumer choice in the NDIS
NDS and the University of South Australia Institute for Choice have partnered on a national survey to understand the factors that influence people’s choices about service providers.
Aimed at NDIS participants, their families and carers, the research will help illuminate how choices are being made in the NDIS, and how they are affected by the quality of planning, goal-setting and the availability of services and supports.
The research is internationally significant in its application of techniques used more often in marketing analysis than in disability policy. Feedback from the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO), Carers Australia and Mental Health Australia has helped increase the accessibility of the survey. Depending on the response, the survey could be run annually to ensure the voices of NDIS participants and carers are heard during NDIS transition and beyond.
Understanding the preferences of consumers will offer NDS members unique insights that support marketing, customer engagement and service delivery.
Your organisation’s participation is essential to the success of the study.
To assist with recruitment and to maximise participation in the survey, NDS is requesting assistance from members to promote the survey and supporting materials – which are on the project page on the CADR website.
These materials and the survey can be shared now with people you support, their families and carers, and with your wider networks via email, websites, social media and newsletters. NDS aims to make the key findings available at the NDS CEO Meeting on 19 and 20 November this year.
