Greater clarity has emerged on last night's budget announcement of the intention to streamline the delivery of employment services by "better targeting specialist disability employment services to those most in need".

From 1 July 2021, job seekers who are capable of working 30 hours or more per week, or who do not receive income support or pension payments will be ineligible for DES. These job seekers will now be encouraged to access other employment services such as jobactive.
