Feedback sought on new Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles framework
7/09/2020
Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria (CPVV) is seeking feedback on their new framework for training and assessing drivers of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) by Friday, 16 October 2020.
The new proposed framework for training and assessing drivers of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles was developed following consultation on CPVV’s 2019 issues paper [PDF].
NDS is seeking feedback on the new framework’s key recommendations which include:
- making regular disability and inclusion awareness training available to all CPV drivers, not just WAV drivers, via their Booking Service Provider
- ensuring knowledge and skills are kept up-to-date for WAV drivers through refresher training
- CPVV taking a more active role in developing and ensuring the quality and consistency of available training and assessment providers.
Please provide feedback to NDS by Friday 9 October to inform our submission and to CPVV by Friday 16 October 2020.
Providers are welcome to provide feedback online directly to CPPV, email a written response to policy@cpv.vic.gov.au, or arrange a discussion with CPVV by emailing policy@cpv.vic.gov.au.
