The Minister for Social Services Amanda Rishworth MP has announced the permanent abolition of the DES Star Ratings and a review of DES Performance Indicator (KPI) 2. The decision to abolish the star ratings has immediate effect.

The Department of Social Services (DSS) will develop a new performance framework that includes measures for the three KPIs under the DES Grant agreement (Efficiency, Effectiveness and Quality). The new framework is intended to ensure a holistic measure of provider performance. DSS will issue regular updates to providers on the development of the new Performance Framework.
